Turkey mince cottage pie

  • 300 g Carrots I use tinned and chop finely
  • 200 g Onions I use frozen for convenience
  • 200 g Celery or 1/2 teaspoon of celery salt
  • 500 g Turkey mince I use 2%
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon gluten-free brown Sauce
  • Splash gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
  • 300 ml of gluten-free beef stock reduced salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon of plain gluten-free flour I use Doves Farm

Mash topping:

  • 800 g potatoes
  • 30 g dairy-free spread I use Vitalite


  1. Brown your mince if you like.

  2. Put everything in the slow cooker except for the stock and flour. Keep back the potatoes & dairy-free spread for later.

  3. Combine the stock & flour and mix well.
  4. Add to the slow cooker.
  5. Cook it on high for 4 hours. Or 6-8 hours on low.
  6. Prepare your mash topping.
  7. Once the filling is ready you can top with mash and cook for a further 1-1.5 hours on high. Alternatively, place in an oven dish and top with mash and crisp under the grill.
  8. Serve!
